Make Our Days Count

Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom." ~ Psalm 90:12
Life is filled with opportunities, but the big question is what we do with them.

Do we let them slip by, saying, “Maybe next time? There is always another day”? Or, do we seize them? We may not have as much time as we think.

James 4:14   Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Psalm 90:12 "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

“Number of our days”: Evaluate the use of our time because life is short.

“Hearts unto wisdom”: Wisdom focuses on the Lord’s sovereignty and revelation.

An event that causes someone to seriously reflect on his or her life has a purpose. everyone needs to take inventory regarding how they are spending their days.

A day can be spent wisely or foolishly but once it is spent, it cannot be spent again.

This is saying to me, that we are to treasure each moment and do good at that moment. Take stock of how much time we have, and use that time wisely for the Lord. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the
Lord.

All of us can look back and see the time we wasted on foolish things of the flesh. You cannot do anything about that, it is past and gone. Use the time you have
left to do the will of God.

No man can count the number of days he has to live. the number of his days, months, and years,
are left to do the will of God

Ephesians 5:15  See then that ye walk circumspectly,
not as fools, but as wise,

For we cannot boast of tomorrow, we know not but this day, or night, our souls may be required of us. But the sense is, that God would teach us seriously to meditate on and consider, the shortness of our days.

We must not count our days but make our days count, it is not how we start in life but how we finish.

That they are but as a shadow...and to observe how unprofitably we have spent them, which may put us upon redeeming the time, and also take notice of the goodness of God, that has followed us all our days, which may lead us to repentance so we can be more positive to our self and others.

So we must seize the day. Seize the moment. Seize the opportunities before us. we must not put off opportunities too long, because we may not have as much time as we think. We must be productive with our life. Be productive with our time. Seize the opportunities God has given us.

Revelation 12:7-17

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

The Fall
3 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

James 4:7   Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 2:2   Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

1 Peter 5:8   Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Matthew 4:8-11
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Matthew 4:10 "Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."

Matthew 4:11 "Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."

The devil is subject to the command of Jesus, and he had to leave.

James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you".
